Inspired by our 8 year old dog's journey with lymphoma and a personal battle with breast cancer at just 24, we were determined to create treats that truly support pets' health through a line of smarter, naturally functional, and nutritious treats, each one crafted with care and packed with meaningful benefits to your pet's well-being, nurturing their health and happiness.

Smart Cookie Cart: Treat Tricycle
Our journey began on three wheels with the Smart Cookie Cart, Colorado's first food truck for dogs—a tricycle that brought us to dog parks, farmers' markets, and events. That spirit of connection and community continues to drive us today, as we create treats that are as unique and special as the pets we serve.
We started with a simple idea: crafting custom treats made to order based on our customer’s preference, lifestyle, or their pup’s dietary restrictions. Customers chose their preferred protein, fruit, and veggie combinations, and we crafted each batch specifically for them. From these custom creations, our first functional treats were born: Hip & Joint, Skin & Coat, and Endurance—blends inspired by the most requested ingredient combinations. They were "customer formulated," and two of them continue to be part of our best sellers today.
And then there’s our super seller from day one—Rabbit Jerky! A treat so popular it helped shape Smart Cookie into what it is today: a brand that listens to its customers and grows alongside them. We've built a "company of pet parents," dedicated to making both dogs and their humans happy.

Chief Tasting Officer:
We also carry the legacy of Sam, our beloved Chief Tasting Officer, who passed away last year. Sam, a 12-year-old Golden Retriever, had been part of Smart Cookie since she was just 8 weeks old, testing and trying various Smart Cookie recipes. When she wasn’t playing with her best friend Bentley the cat, or enjoying Smart Cookies, she loved hiking, swimming, playing fetch, and hanging out with her dog friends at various dog parks around the Denver, Colorado area. Sam was more than just a taste tester; she was the heart of Smart Cookie, inspiring us with her joyful spirit and love for every treat we created. Her paw prints are forever part of our story, guiding us as we continue to make treats that bring happiness to pets and their families.
