So what are some of the best foods to feed your dog? Here’s a list of ingredients typically meant for human consumption, and are super healthy and functional for your pup too.
Oats are nature’s Benadryl. No really. Oats contain crazy-awesome natural chemical compounds called avenanthramides. These are responsible for oats’ natural ability to provide itching relief and fight inflammation.
Function: anti-inflammatory, anti-itch, antioxidant, anti-irritant
Carrots are delicious, but besides that, they are beneficial for their fiber and their beta-carotene. Beta-carotene is a precursor to Vitamin A which is great for maintaining vision health.

Blueberries are loaded with antioxidants which help keep away free-radical ninjas.

Barley is an SDS – slowly digestible starch, which means it keeps blood sugars level, curbs hunger and provides a healthy source of fiber. Great for diabetic dogs!

Quinoa is a nutritional powerhouse. This superfood seed is gluten-free and contains lots of protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals

Cranberries are like their friends blueberries – loaded with antioxidants. Their specific nutrient make up makes them beneficial for urinary tract health too!

Flax seed is full of omega-3 fatty acids, perfect for nourishing skin and coat. Just be sure to use ground flax seed as both human and dog bodies can only absorb the beneficial nutrients if they are ground up.
