Smart Cookie: DIY Christmas Treats for Dogs

No-Bake Pumpkin & Oat Dog Treat Bits with Flax Seed
Time: 15 min
Yield: 16-25 treats
1 ½ Cups Pumpkin Puree
1 Cup Rolled Oats (divided)
½ Cup Flax Seed (milled)

In a mixing bowl, thoroughly combine pumpkin, ¾ cup of oats, and flax seed. Pinch off pieces of dough and roll into dough balls between hands. You can make them as small as a marble or larger than a golf ball depending on the size of your dog. Roll each bite in remaining oats and set on cookie sheet. Once all of the bites are made, freeze for 15 minutes and serve (humans can eat these too!) Keep refrigerated or frozen.

Mix ingredients together in either an electric mixer or by hand until a soft dough forms. Sprinkle some flour on the counter top and rolling pin. Roll out the dough about ¼-1/2 inch thick. Use your favorite dog-themed or Christmas-themed cookie cutters. Place cookies on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or covered with a thin layer of vegetable oil. Bake at 350◦ for 20-25 minutes. Allow cookies to cool until crunchy.
